Online Art Submission

This show will focus on iconic Cambria settings including our well-loved shops and restaurants, familiar street scenes, near-by back roads, the forest and of course, the beautiful Cambria coastline. All mediums included and all artists invited to submit.

There will be non-cash awards for best in categories, multiple local jurors.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Wednesday, December 27- Tuesday January 2: Upload paintings to website
Tuesday, January 2 – 10:00 AM to Noon: Exchange Day (Bring in new art, pick up unsold art.) 
Saturday, January 6 – 4:30-6 PM: Artists' reception featuring wine, live music, refreshments
January 5 – February 25: Exhibit dates at the Gallery
Tuesday, February 27 – 10:00 AM to Noon: pick up unsold artwork. 


ENTRY FEE:

CCA Members: $10

Non-Members: $15

Cabinets, Members:  $15, Volunteers $10, Non-members: $25

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK:

Submission/registration must be done using our online form. If you are unable to use this registration method, you can bring your art in on Exchange Day and our team will help.

REQUIREMENTS TO SHOW:

All work must be original,  with no part copied from other art or publications.
All paintings must be signed. All photos must be signed. All hung work must have either a business card or written information on the back of the piece.
Limited to four pieces per artist.  
Wire taught and secure, 1/3 of the way down from top so that piece hangs properly. Please check that your piece hangs properly before entering it in the show. More information can be found on our website.
Pedestals are available for displaying three-dimensional work. Fragile pieces must be placed and secured by the artist. (We provide museum paste.)
Entry forms may be downloaded from the website – but forms are also available on exchange day.
 
ARTIST RESPONSIBILITY:

This is an exhibit in our virtual gallery and our physical gallery. Each artist is responsible for submitting your work which includes uploading up to four high quality images of your work and paying the take-in fee, then bringing the submitted artwork to the gallery during exchange day hours. Artists who are unable to use the online registration form can bring their work in on exchange day and one of the gallery team will do it for you.

INFORMATION ABOUT SALES:

At least three of the four entries by an individual artist must be for sale.
The artist may replace sold work with another piece.
CCA will keep 30% commission on each piece sold.
For artwork sold online, the artist is responsible for delivery to the buyer. Artist is also responsible for conveying any return or refund policy to the buyer prior to delivery.
Monies for artwork sold will be mailed to the artist before the end of the following month.

The public is cordially invited to view the submitted art -- and meet the artists -- at an Opening Reception, to be held Saturday, January 6 from 4:30 - 6:00pm at the Cambria Center for the Arts in Main Street. Enjoy festive refreshments and the company of local creatives as you browse the gallery.

GALLERY EXHIBIT

  1. ELIGIBILITY:
    Membership with Cambria Center for the Arts is not required for this show, but always encouraged. To become a member or update your membership, select the join button at the bottom of the page.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK:
Use the "Art Submittal Form" link found below to upload high quality images of your work along with all the necessary information during the online submittal dates. Then bring your art work to the gallery on the Exchange Day between 10:00 am and noon.

If you are unable to complete the online submittal, you can bring your work in on exchange day along with a completed take-in form (found linked below or in our gallery). The Exchange Day volunteers will help you add your work to the online gallery.

If you're unable to bring your work in on the designated day and time, contact the gallery and someone will assist you.

REQUIREMENTS TO SHOW:

ARTIST RESPONSIBILITY:
Along with those requirements in the "How to Submit Your Work" section above, please fill out a W9 Form to have on file with us. Artists also are responsible for the following:

Artists must make sure the artwork can be easily hung from our hanging system. This system includes a single or double wire suspended from a track near the ceiling. This wire has a hook attached that can be moved up or down depending on the size of the piece. Select our Wiring Guidelines PDF (linked below) to see an illustration of how this works. Pieces that are to be hung on the wall must be wired on the back or have a dowel at the top to keep them flush against the wall.

Artists are responsible to sit at the Gallery as a docent during the exhibit they are participating in. If you are unable to fulfill this obligation you can complete the form and pay $20. This fee will go towards paying a Docent Coordinator.

Cabinet/Shelf Artwork

In the CCA physical Gallery only

CCA Members $15

The cabinet is rented for the duration of the exhibit detailed above.

ELIGIBILITY:
We currently have four cabinets and three shelf units available for artwork. These are available on a first-come first-serve basis at this time. If more artists wish to show their work they will be placed on a wait list until the following exhibit. Open to all Member artists. 

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK:
Notify our Cabinet Coordinator, Marjorie Zlotowitz at Gallery@cambriaarts.org to let her know you are interested in showing your work in a cabinet. Download the submission form linked below and fill it out in its entirety before bringing your work into the Gallery. You will be informed in advance of exchange day if you have been accepted to show.

  • The artist will be responsible for setting up their own cabinet, but the Gallery Committee has the right to make changes.

Greeting Card Artists

Member artists at Cambria Center for the Arts can add greeting cards to our racks for sale. Simply fill out the Greeting Card Entry form linked below and present it to the Coordinator on Exchange day, which is listed above in the "Our Next Gallery Exhibit" section.

GREETING CARD REQUIREMENTS

  • Artist must be a current member of Cambria Center for the Arts.
  • Artist must complete the Greeting Card Entry Form and submit it to the Gallery Take-in Coordinator prior to adding Greeting Cards to the racks.
  • Cards must be standard sizes that will fit in the card racks easily: nothing larger than 5" x 7" envelope, and nothing smaller than 4 3/8" x 5 3/4" envelope.
  • Cards must be professionally presented in the correct size plastic sleeve that closes at one end.
  • Assortments can be offered in a plastic see-through box that adheres to the same size constraints listed above.
  • Each card or card box must have a sticker listing the artist's name and price.
  • No more than 50 cards per artist may be brought in at one time.
  • Artists are responsible for managing their own cards, including replacement when the cards are running low.

Participate in the Member Artist Showcase

YOU DON'T WANT TO PASS UP THIS OPPORTUNITY!

One of the benefits of being a member with CCA is for artists who would like to have an online portfolio of their work. The Member Artist Showcase is a great venue for artists. Artists can upload an image of self, include a bio of up to 300 words, include 12 works of art, and even include a video. Click the link below to open the Artist Portfolio interface. Type in your email address to verify you are a current member and add your content. You can come back to this same interface at any time to change the content.

This same content will be used to create the Artist Book found in the Gallery for visitors to view.
