Cindy Stiles

Cindy Stiles Artist Cindy Stiles moved to Cambria from the Central Valley where her artistic journey began in 2006 after retiring from elementary school teaching and many years of volunteering in the community. Her early art studies focused on stylized, color-saturated acrylic still lifes that can best be described as fun and funky. Before long however her interest transitioned to realism and she quickly enrolled in drawing and painting classes wherever she could find them. She also put away the acrylic paints in favor of her favorite medium, oil. Over the past fourteen years she has studied seriously on her own and with master artists in workshops throughout the United States. She has exhibited her work at Cambria Center for the Arts and the Bakersfield Art Center and has been juried into a number of shows at the Bakersfield Museum of Art. Many of her paintings have found homes with collectors as far away as Missouri and Texas.
While Cindy paints outdoors with the Cambria Wednesday Irregulars she draws inspiration from the California Impressionists, both living and historic. Her biggest cheerleaders are her husband David and her grown children Anne and John.
