Artist Statement

You might imagine that it takes some persistence to progress from a wish to reality. I was able to make that progression.

Art is a visual communications tool. Communication is the ability to send and receive information between or among people.

Art communicates ideas that are created by the person who creates the art form. Aesthetics means beauty. Beauty can be found in many art forms. Dance, music, movies, fashion and plays or operas. Fine art includes drawings, paintings and sculpture. It is different from commercial art, which pushes or forces a specific message to the viewer. Fine art asks for the person’s special contribution or interpretation to the piece.

Some but not all art communicates beauty. I enjoy creating something that I think is beautiful. Because of that, I have gravitated toward wild life and scenics. If what I create can give joy or beauty to someone else, I feel that I have accomplished something good for this world.

There is no better pleasure than helping another person enjoy life. Sometimes telling someone that they have done a good job in life works, or helping someone work out a problem. Putting beauty in an art form also can improve someone’s life. So, if I see something that inspires me and I feel that I can create some beauty by working on the project, I challenge myself to put it into an art form so that another person can enjoy it too.
