Jill Andrews

Jill Andrews Jill H Andrews is a self-taught artist who experiments with pen and ink, paint, fibers and found objects. Abstracts based on science and California coastal flora and fauna are ongoing themes in her art. Andrews carefully researches her subjects in order to derive a deeper understanding and convey greater appreciation for each.

Andrews, a native southern Californian, has been passionate about art for most of her life. During her professional career, she spent 25 years as a science writer and educational outreach director at major science and engineering universities. She brought together artists, business professionals, educators, scientists and engineers to produce films, print and electronic products, and art installations that translated scientific and engineering concepts for the public sector. With Art Center College of Design and Pasadena Armory for the Arts, she co-curated AxS: At the Intersection of Art & Science, an ongoing, city-wide collaborative effort that explores how art and science can influence one another. In her spare time, she studied drawing, painting and sculpture to develop her interest in creative expression through multiple forms of art.

Andrews lives in Cambria, CA and spends her time laughing, loving, and giving back through her creations.
