Coming soon to the Cambria Center for the Arts Gallery is an exciting new exhibit, Getting High on Nature. There will be an Artist Reception on Saturday September 7 from 4:30-6:00 in the evening, with live music, sweet and savory treats, wine available for purchase, and of course, an abundance of inspiring art reflecting nature.

The featured artist for this event will be the celebrated Karl Dempwolf. Karl specializes in plein air painting and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Plein Air Convention in April of 2017. His work has been shown in various Southern California exhibitions, including The Museum of Science and Industry, Pepperdine University, and the Carnegie Art Museum. He has also been featured in various publications and is included in the permanent collections of several large corporations, including McGraw-Hill Publishers and the National Park Foundation. One of his paintings recently found its way back to his home country, when President Obama presented Karl’s work, "Cypress Veil," to Chancellor Angela Merkel as a diplomatic gift when she visited the White House Rose Garden.

It's About Time

Featuring the Cambria Vineyard Church Creative Community

The Vineyard creative community has brought together a group of likeminded individuals to share creative talents and their common faith.

Prior to the pandemic the creative community met semi-regularly at the Vineyard church to share projects, workshops and art demonstrations.

The group has displayed art regularly in the church building and participated in art making for seasonal and spiritual experiences at the church throughout the year.
The group has held yearly sales of art at the church where a portion of sales have gone to benefit the churches outreach in Cambria.

The group’s numbers have fluctuated during the years and it is the core group that will be participating in the show at The Cambria Center for the Arts.

The creative community is comprised primarily of visual artists who use a wide range of styles and media. Most of these artists have been active members of the Center.

The current show of the Cambria Vineyard Church Creative Community will be focused on the theme, “It’s About Time”.
The theme has afforded the artists a wide range of topical possibilities that are reflected in the work.

During this online art show, the time will have changed as the clock moves forward, the season will have changed from winter into spring, Easter will have arrived and hopefully the world, despite all we have experienced this past year, will have changed for the better. Thus, the show’s title, “It’s about time”.

The artists participating are:
Denise Brill
Paula Guiney
Amy Parson
Kelly Ward
Jim Karjala
Suzette Morrow
Ruthanne Howald
Frank Walker
