FEATURED ARTIST

Deborah Pepin

Deborah Pepin is a self taught artist who was born and raised in the San Joaquin Valley of Central California. She has always been, what she calls a "Creative." After a devastating diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, and her physical health not in great shape, she got busy learning and painting (creating) each and every day. She takes as many workshops as her physical health allows. Living life with a chronic disease isn't always easy but Deborah truly feels that ART saved her life. She shows her work in local galleries in the San Joaquin Valley, mountain communities outside of Fresno, California, Yosemite, and also along the central coast in California.

Living in the shadows of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range offers Deborah many opportunities to plein air paint and she does so as often as she can, and her health issues allows. She uses oils and pastels in her plein air work and feels that these mediums offer her the best representation of the local color and texture. Her commission work is also done in oils and pastels.

She chairs a position for the Pastel Society of the West Coast, was past president (2017, 2018) of Alliance of California Artists ( a local Non-Profit for artists), is a member of the Central California Coast Pastel Society and the Yosemite Western Artists.

Deborah lives with her husband in the Central Valley of California, and is fortunate enough to have a studio in her home. She creates daily, studies everything she can, and is just enjoying this creative time in her life.
