Tom Franklin

Tom has had a lifelong interest in photography beginning with building a dark room in his parents’ garage at age 14 with the help of his grandfather. Throughout his career as a firefighter he continued to gather images of the natural world on hikes and backpacking trips. Trips with family always centered around capturing the best light and exploring interesting compositions.

Since retiring from his day job in 2009 he has been able to devote more time to his art and has been exhibiting at galleries and Art in the Park in Morro Bay. He is a purist and his images are not manipulated in any way.
