FEATURED ARTIST

Art Van Rhyn

Art Van Rhyn When the fog rolls in along Moonstone Drive, it would be easy to mistake the aged wooden planks of Art Van Rhyn's studio/home for a ship run aground. In the sunny light of day it is a ship of dreams set to launch.

Return of the Renaissance Man!

How else would you describe this modern day Di Vinci, who, after "retiring" a quarter century ago crafted this fortress of aptitude with his own hands? Art was one of the founding members of the "Wednesday Irregulars" and has been an active participant in the Cambria community since moving here in 1982. Visitors fortunate enough to gain entrance to the creative hub of Art's world can pour through dozens of local plein air works, hundreds of pen & watercolor sketches made on location around the globe and many many more formally presented pieces framed and on display.

Art achieved his BA and MA of Fine Arts from CalState Northridge with predominant work in three-dimensional studies. He has exhibited extensively in Ojai, Oxnard and Los Angeles.
