My work is an expressive response to the struggle through this time. The human figure is central to my work in clay. The vulnerability and trust we put in our faith is present through found objects that I mix with the ceramics. This work explores the transcendence of trauma, healing and duality of the past bound to the present. The surfaces are left raw with staining and oxides that offer the viewer a sense of age and antiquity. I invite the viewer to ponder where they may also relate to feelings of vulnerability, the need to insulate and linger within that in between space in time.
