The Cambria Film Festival presents a special exhibit of the work of former long-time Cambria resident and world-renowned photographer Arthur Tress. 

This special exhibit is a preview of the exhibit that will be taking place at the Harvey Milk Center in San Francisco later this year.

About the documentary:

Go on an epic and intimate journey in this documentary about acclaimed photographer and former longtime Cambria resident Arthur Tress as he enters his 8th decade. Arthur grapples with relationships, legacy, the aging process, and loneliness all while continuing to develop his photographic art within the hidden, desolate, and decaying corners of California.

Throughout there are tangents showing how music and sound effects blend together to make a final film product.

Instructor:
Bruce Richardson was a sound effects editor/supervising editor for approximately 35 years. Over his career he worked on three Oscar winner pictures for sound editing… “Back to the Future,” “Roger Rabbit” and “The Hunt for Red October.”  He won an Emmy on the acclaimed miniseries “Roots,” way back in 1976. He has taken several screenplay writing classes where he learned about film structure and over the past 40 years has written six screenplays, a few short stories and wrote and directed two 35mm short films. One of them, “AWOL,” was shot in Cambria CA. in 1979 and aired on HBO in the 80’s. He has also worked on production and spent eight months overseas working for the director Sam Peckinpah, filmed a documentary about the making of that movie, “Cross of Iron,” and worked as a stuntman, stunt-double, and stand-in for James Colburn. Since retiring from sound effects editing he has from time to time worked as a music editor with his wife, Lise’ Richardson. Bruce Richardson has been a voting member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences since 1994. For more information on Bruce’s credits please go to his IMDB link.
